Final Idea

this video is me speaking out my idea to sum up music video is some what like a documentary and shows how a dance group gets ready for a performance, this includes them learning the step, practising, not getting the steps, having a good time etc, all of which will be in black and white. halfway through the song it will then show the actual performance and this will be in colour, the camera will be around the dancers to involve the audience and make them feel like they are performing along with them. This part will be in colour.

In Bollywood music videos it is very rare to see a real life band or an artist who is singing the song this is because most Bollywood songs are a part of a film and therefore the actors in the film will be dance to the music and lip sync to the words.

In music videos in Bollywood are not always seen to be joyful and dancing and filled with colours. There is a verity of different type of music video, the most common is a love story which is seen in through one song, a dream sequences. Bollywood music video tends to show the emotion with a character is feeling at the time of the film.

However the norm India is to release the album from the film a few weeks before the film as this helps to advertise the film. Main stream film will have director the main actor in the film and possibly the producer of the film. Something the actors dance to a song which tents to the song which makes the album poplar.

okay so was just watching tv and an idea stuck to me, why dont i have a videos showing how the song was made for example show the dancers rehersing, and havuing fun, showing what happenes before they go on stage, this could be in balck and white the right at the end show all the dancers on stage just about to dance then the music video ends there. i think this would be very differnt yet a fun cool interesting concept. however it would be hard to shoot as i would need my dancers to be completly natual to make the video effective.

In Bollywood, most music videos are a part of a film therefore a music video the best way to attract people to watch the film as the music video is the USP of a film and also has been. This means that on the film posters an image from the music video is used. This not only promotes the film but also promotes the music video. There is a music video from the film ‘heroine’ directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. Here is the music video.

He said its not neccassary for me to have a narrative therefore in my music I will not be having a narrative as most bollywood music videos don't have narrative. Therefore I be following the conventions of the bollywood

well as i am quite behind on work i have set the traget by next moday i have to complet my resreach tasks. as i have a day off tomorrow and then the weekend i have alot of time that i will be dedicating to my reachers. i will also be thinking about my idea for my music video.

 im still lost in what i should do, i dont have a song nor an idea nor locations. this week end i will come up with 3 different ideas that i could possiable do. i will then post on my blog what they are. then next weekend i will visit that place and take pictures..which is aprt of my planning... i still dont know what im going to do for my video

Research into Possible Equipment Choices

This is a video I made about the different equipments that I could possibly use to make my music video, digipak and magazine advert.
Overall I have said that I will be using two different camera; a cannon's DSLR and a nikon's DSLR which will allow me to take high quality and professionally pictures and footage. I will be using a tripod to assist me when I'm using the camera. along with professional flash lights. to put together my digipak and my magazine add I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS3 and for my music video I will be using Adobe primer

Another thing I could do for my music video is have an english song with indian dancers and indian dancing, I have a few songs in which I could do this however the loactions is the key thing which I dont know what to do, I want my music video to be different and good at the same time.

There is a great music video with narrative from the song ‘dil mere’ it’s a fun, romantic music video with effects, I was thinking to copy the music video and change the song. The song would be jugin ji. This would be challenging for me as I don’t know how to use the software which will allow me to put effects on however I think this could be successful.

For my music video I know that I have a dance group with professional dancers willing to participate in my music video, however I am struggling with finding a right song and idea, I was looking at the music video ‘marjani marjani’ from the film billu however I don’t have any locations in which I can film.

Another thing I could is do something similar to what is done in the video of jugin ji, it is very simple and what have to end the whole thing very well. The video is in once location and shows the main singer and other co singer, dancing around and singing along, its very simple and it would be very hard to shoot once I get the right distance and angles.

For my music video I am thing about doing a performance video, on the song HAS HAS - DJ SURINDER, I have a dance group which are ready to in the video. I was listening to song and just came up with an idea why not film the dancers while they are in the dance studios and show them having fun, I think it would be quite interesting to see however this is just an idea I will need to think on who the video will be aimed at and how I will shoot it. I think it is a good idea but I will need to improve on in.
